About

Hi, I'm Chantal (aka Pastelchan) and I'm the owner of Atelier Pastelchan. I'm currently 30 y/o and living in Nijmegen, The Netherlands. I've been making and designing clothing since 2008, first by hand and after that by machine. I completed my seamstress education at the Rijnijssel school in Arnhem in 2018 with my finals collection called 'Orbital Resort'.

I found my passion for sewing back when I was 16 years old and discovered the Japanese fashion 'Lolita Fashion'. I loved the cute and girly look. Even though I don't wear Lolita anymore and am not active in any community anymore, I still use it as an inspiration for many of my personally designed items.

Atelier Pastelchan is a mix between Japanese cute ('kawaii'), fantasy and historical clothing. I get inspired by interesting details in clothing I come across on the Internet, historical designs and the over the top looks of Japanese streetwear.

With commissions I try to keep in mind the customer's budget as much as possible. For me quality for an afforable price is important. For commissions we discuss details, fabric and materials, the deadline and ofcourse the budget together. Throughout the process I keep you updated when needed.
